Upgrades

Hlala Lapha extension, dance floor and braai area is almost complete.  After initially thinking we could put it in over one week, it is now into the fourth week!  However, all coming together now with the paving in place, the grass planted and the fireplace definitely coming together!  Cant wait to put it all to the test!!!

Catering

Prego rolls and chips seem to be the perfect answer for a quick lunchtime meal.  Prego steaks are very yummy and our chips are baked with sea salt and garlic with a sprinkle of chip spice and chives when ready.  This order was taken over to Jabulani at 12.30 pm before the group played paintball at 2pm.  After that what is better than an ice…

Hlala Lapha extension

After literally years of wanting to extend the Hlala Lapha patio, we are finally here with the terracotta paving stones now on site.  We will also build a long stone braai and put in a wooden dance floor.  This will add another gorgeous dimension to our already lovely Lapa.

Ambiance

I love the word ‘ambiance’ as it so aptly applies to our Venues.  This weekend we had two couples getting engaged here.  I think that says a lot!  LOVELY reviews from all our couples that left after this long weekend.  We were asked on Saturday if we would cater for a romantic dinner in the Lapa (AFTER rugby of course!!!) so we did a roast…

Birdlife Abounds

Our Egyptian Geese have six goslings this spring.  There is so much bird life on our pond now we have decided we need a hide so we can enjoy a glass of wine whilst viewing the peaceful activities of the different ducks, lilie trotters, heron, geese, hadeda and everything else that is finding our reservoir such a happy place to be.

Fishpond update

Our fishpond nearing completion with waterfall and day/night lights installed and the rock seat almost done.  Just a bit of rock patio extension to be done next week and that should be it.  It is looking really lovely and hopefully we will see loads of beautiful red and salmon water lilies through summer.  Its fascination continues to grow for Tugboat unfortunately but he is yet…

Mornings after…

Our Roosterkoek bacon and egg rolls, along with a fresh glass of juice (orange, carrot and apple freshly juiced) and a cup of coffee on waking, went down well on Sunday morning at Jabulani and Hlala Lapha. They appear to be the perfect thing for the morning after…

Fishpond

Fishpond nearing completion with the construction of a mini waterfall, some rockwork and a day/night switch for the light.  Tugboat and Sugar, the resident hounds are fascinated with the fish and visa versa! We gave the pond a spring clean as well and noticed that our water lilies were starting to send up some nice buds so we look forward to some beautiful water lily…
