The Wallow – 17 January 2020
We have added a new swimming pool called The Wallow, so that all guests will always have a pool available to them. This has worked a treat.

Additional bio filtration
Tim has added in a new and additional bio filtration system to ensure that we have a high quality, adequate water supply. It is a self-designed system which gives a further 12 filtrations through stone, bidum cloth, sand and finally charcoal.

Autumn – 5th May 2019
Well into Autumn and with the late rains in April, the gardens are looking lovely! Next week we will need to do some frost protection.

Painting time again – 8th October 2018
Changing our look to a really nice earthy colour and Grecian white, inside and out! Simple! We carry on when and if we have the time available but we are going to look good when done! Damp proofing as we go to eliminate that nightmare of peeling and bubbling paint!

Spring is here again – 3rd October 2018
Irises in the fish pond are the best ever this year! Looking so pretty with loads of beautiful flowers. Unfortunately our Jack Russells have taken to chasing the fish again so time to put the electric fence around the edge for a day or two!

Verandah ceiling replacement – July 2018
At last the renovation to the verandah ceiling has been completed after 3 months. No more leaks hopefully as the gutters have been replace and more downpipes added by SA Gutters. Ceiling total replaced with newtech fibre cement ceiling, bronze skylights and rhino lighting and finally painting.
Starling – 10 May 2018

And of course, not to mention a sundowner in the evenings!

Red Bishops have arrived – 5 February 2018
Planting different grasses mixed with sorghum, sunflowers, maize and a variety of winter seeds like Namaqualand daisies, in neglected parts of the garden, we have finally attracted the Red Bishops to our seed tray net to the verandah.

Tim and I seem to cope pretty well with the last minute request for a meal, even though we strictly ask for good warning, as in, when you book let us know your catering arrangements if you require them! However, what do you do when a guest arrives at 10 pm and says, we are STARVING! So, we are now pretty jacked in putting together a quick and…

Weekend reviews – 27 August 2017
As guests left today, we received great reviews from them all as well as from the two events held at Hlala Lapha and Jabulani. We especially loved the bachelor’s comment as he stepped into Jabulani i.e. ‘fokking awesome!’. All the couples said they loved their weekend in their different units and would be returning again. The Fish Eagle Couple from Pietermaritzburg, along with their little…
